Berryboot is simple to put on the SD Card and allows different operating systems to be put on a usb drive.
I use it to switch between OpenElec as my media center hooked on my TV and Debian to perform background tasks which are long running like Torrents and running youtube cl for uploading multiple videos to Youtube.
To set the default operating system on boot remotely without having a keyboard/mouse attached to the Raspberry Pi the following may be used:
Write out the desired image file's name to "runonce"
